In the fifth episode of 10 Counts Towards the Future, the competition continues. Most members lose in the first round except Akari. She wins the first round but loses in the second round against Keimei High School, which is a rivalry of her high school. The principal fires Shougo due to the bad result. But team members wants him back. Also, because Shougo is fired, the vice principal is required to take over Shougo's teaching duty. On the other hand, the guiding teacher of the boxing team asks Shougo's friend, Kai, to be the coach of the team.

The teaching of the vice principal is too boring that some students complain to the principal. Kai also comes to the principal claiming that members do not understand his guidance and that he is not suitable for coaching the team (this is in fact arranged by the guiding teacher of the team, who has fallen for Shougo and wants Shougo back) . So the principal asks Shougo to teach and coach again.

In the last scene of this episode, Shougo is delivering pizzas. The woman who opens the door looks exactly like his dead wife.
