Today I have watched the first episode of a Japanese TV drama called 10 Counts Towards the Future. The main character Shougo had been an outstanding boxer in high school and university. However, he gave up boxing since he was 20. Now at 48, he is leading an aimless life, making ends meet by delivering pizzas. One day, his previous coach, who had been the coach of the boxing team in the same high school for decades, told Shougo that due to cancer, he (the coach) had to step down, and asked Shougo to succeed him as the coach. Though unwilling and unmotivated, he agreed to be the coach anyway. With insufficient team members, the team is to be closed in the coming June. However, several enthusiastic team members recruited a few more new members so the team is revitalised. Also, there is a new guiding teacher for the team, who is young and passionate. She knows nothing about boxing, but is eager to learn. With a new coach, a new guiding teacher and more team members, it seems there is new hope in the team. Let's see what will happen next.
