I randomly chose 20 words / expressions from my vocab list, which I collected when I read news and books. Among those 20 words / expressions, I chose 5 of them to include in a short story. The 5 words / expressions are as below:

jump at
ingenuity
block party
catastrophic

Though without broad connections, in order to obtain a sought-after job opportunity in an international corporation, which every one is eager to jump at, Katy decided to apply her ingenuity. She decided to join the block party of the area where the CEO of her target company lives so as to know more about the CEO and his likes and dislikes. However, something catastrophic happened. A wild fire broke out in the forest next to the block during the block party. Within minutes, the whole block was under fire. Luckily, Katy and residents escaped quick enough that no one was hurt. But Katy decided not to try to enter that international corportation anymore.
Even as a native English speaker I did not know sought-after was meant to have a hyphen in the middle until looking it up just now, kudos to you.
