My Weekly Schedule Runs Like Clockwork

A few months ago, when I talked to my counsellor, we found out I have a really organized schedule because everything is planned in advance, so I will share with you what my weeks look like.

First of all, I have a 9-4 job. I have been working in this company for 3 years. Last year, I had some issues with one of my coworkers, but everything is over now, as she decided to quit.  My phone rings at 7:45 a.m., and I usually wake up earlier, however, I get up at... 8:10. It's becoming too hard to get up. I often listen to music to motivate me.

Then, I try to have a quick breakfast. I take the 9:15 bus. Yes, I arrive late at work. However, I always thought the most important thing is that your job has to be done on time. I can also work from home. As I'm the only full-time worker, I have to be present at my desk. I work in the media field, so even after my shift, on the weekend, etc, I check the news and look for subjects to discuss on air, on the radio.

In the evening, I take the bus at 4:20 and go to my English class from 5pm to 8pm from Monday to Thursday. I get home around 8:15pm and take some time to chill, eat, take care of myself a little, sleep and repeat all week. While eating or lying in bed, I watch YouTube videos or listen to podcasts since I don’t have a TV and I like having background noise. It really helps me to sleep. It's like a lullaby.

Therefore, I have been trying BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art based on grappling, ground fighting, and submissions) for 2 months now. I try to practice 2/3 times a week. Sometimes I have to skip English class to practice. I was surprised to discover that some practitioners are bilingual or speak a little French. On Fridays, I also go to Judo class to learn takedowns (techniques to bring the opponent to the ground).

On the weekend, I go to the gym. I'm followed by a personal trainer whom I see once a week for a workout session. Last year, I also used to have a language exchange session with a friend on Saturday mornings. He moved, so we stopped.  On Sunday evenings, I prep my meal for the week, do skincare and my hair. And it's already Monday!

Yes, as you can imagine, I don't really have a social life. I've been living in a foreign country for 3 years and don't have friends. I've always been shy, and the fact that I'm not confident enough with my English doesn't help me.

I just remembered something; I will share with you my first and only event I had with Canadians in another post.

Edit: To give more context, I'm from France. I've been living in Canada for 3 years and work for the same company since I arrived. I live in the only bilingual province (New Brunswick). I'm in the southern part, which is an English-speaking area. Outside Quebec, we can find French community centres/French communities in each province. Community centers include French-language schools, a daycare, a theatre, a library, and organizations that support newcomers. So I work at the community center for the Francophone radio station.
