Ihmisiä opastetaan nykyisin kirjoittamaan haaveitaan paperille. Haaveen kirjaamisen uskotaan johtavan haaveen toteutumiseen. Eräs tuttavani kirjoitti listan unelmistaan:

Hän väitti, että kirjoittaminen helpotti kovasti. Hän saattoi nyt nähdä silmiensä edessä, mitä hän halusi. Ennen kuin hän rohkeni kirjoittaa unelmiaan muistiin, hän ei edes tiennyt haluavansa toimivaa parisuhdetta. Hän ei tiennyt myöskään haluavansa omakotitaloa.

These days, people are told to write their dreams on paper. It's believed that writing a dream will make the dream come true. An acquaintance of mine wrote a list of her dreams: a detached house, having children, a working relationship, health, travels. She claimed that writing helped a lot. She could now see in front of her eyes what she wanted. Before she dared to write down her dreams, she didn't even know that she wanted a working relationship. She didn't know, either, that she wanted a house.
