And the competition school was getting smaller and smaller in our eyes, eventually looking like a matchbox. As the fire warmed the ballon, it made very funny sounds; it sometimes seemed hissing and sometimes panting. Standing in the yard of the school, the competitors and teachers were looking after us, leaning their heads back. We waved to them like royal people. They also changed to dots first and then were no longer visible.
