WORD LIMIT: 140-190 words

TASK TYPE: You’re given an essay title and two ideas clearly linked to the title. You write an essay giving your opinions about the title, using the ideas given. You must also add a third, different idea of your own linked to the title. The title will be a subject of general interest – you won’t need any specialised knowledge.

The question: We are not doing enough to protect our world. Things to write about: 1) the harm we are doing to the environment 2) what we are going to save the environment 3) your OWN idea

According to recent studies, the Earth's temperature has risen drastically over the last century, which means we're not doing enough to protect our planet.

The denizens of our planet are abusing the environment and cause terrible damage to nature in different ways: from producing exhaust emissions to squandering our fresh water supply. However, plants and heavy industry are the main offenders in the polluting the air, water and soil.

To protect our world and future generations, the government has to introduce significant fines for abusers to minimize the harm they do. In addition to that, it doesn't hurt to increase social awareness of the importance of saving non-renewable resources such as water, natural gas and electricity, etc.

If people keep poisoning the planet, we'll face terrible consequences like the degradation of the gene pool and the spread of some diseases to new places. Thousands of landfills and deforestation will lead to the extinction of many species and the collapse of our ecosystem.

To recap, every inhabitant of our planet should abide by strict rules to help our planet stay healthy and the government must control the most dangerous industries properly.
