Привет всем! Я вот уже 12 лет как изучаю русский язык, но никогда на нём не говорю. Поэтому решил писать диалоги с целью практиковать обиходную речь на случай, если когда-нибудь придётся общаться с кем-то по-русски.

Я сижу за столом на открытой веранде пиццерии и обедаю. Мимо проходит друг.
— Привет, Улий! Пицца вкусная? Здешнюю пока не пробовал.
— Антон, как ты?! Ну, в целом городе вкуснее не найти, по-моему. Просто огонь.
— Буду знать!
— Какое ещё “знать”?! Садись-ка ко мне, не стесняйся! Угощаю!
— Хаха, спасибо за приглашение, я только что пообедал.
— Ну, тогда в следующий раз.
— Замётано! Слушай, а потом ты что делаешь? Я вот в парк иду гулять.
— А я сразу домой. Там ждёт огромный перевод. 50 страниц, прикинь. Недели две займёт.
— Ух ты. У тебя дохрена работы впереди.
— И не говори! Поэтому я и хочу как можно быстрее сожрать эту пиццу и вернуться домой к работе. Хочу переводить как минимум три страницы в день.
— Ну, с иишкой-то, я думаю, побыстрее пойдёт?
— Это да! Но тут это строго запрещено. Я и договор подписал, что сам всё буду переводить.
— Ладно, я пошёл, доедай давай свою пиццу. Пока!
— Пока!

I'm sitting outside a sidewalk pizzeria eating lunch when a friend happens by.
— Hey, Uly! How's the pizza? Good? I haven't tried this one.
— Hey, Anton! If you ask me, it's the best in town. Pure fire!
— Good to know!
— What do you mean good to know — sit down and join me. My treat!
— Hahaha, thanks for the offer, but I just ate.
— Next time!
— Deal! What are you doing after? I'm headed to park for a walk.
— And I have to head straight home. I have a huge translation to do; 50 pages! It's probably gonna take me two weeks.
— Holy crap! You've got your work cut out for you.
— Tell me about it! That's why I'm scarfing down this pizza as fast as possible so I can bounce. I need to get to work. I want to do at least three pages a day.
— Well won't it go faster with AI?
— Definitely! But it's strictly forbidden. I had to sign an agreement that it'll be translated by me and me alone.
— Gotcha! Well look, I'll let you finish your pizza. See ya!
— See ya!

Отличная работа! Я только бы сказала «Разговор у ресторана» - для меня «перед рестораном» звучит так, как будто это перед тем как идти в ресторан. Аналогично «перед работой», «перед школой».

Hi, Uly! I hope you don't mind me asking this: How long does it take for you to translate each page? I think you're doing it really fast. Can you give me some tips, please? I translate 5 pages a month. 😅 When I can't find a/the right word, I get stuck and I can't skip it and do the rest.
Hi! I don’t know if we’re talking about the same thing. Here, I’m talking about a professional translation (and a fictional one at that). When you talk about translating, are you talking about studying languages?
I mean translating a book professionally. Of course, the topic and the language we're translating is different.
It totally depends on the subject matter; some subject translate easier than others. And now with AI, you don't really get stuck on one word anymore. It totally changed the translation word. I don't know one professional translator who doesn't let AI provide a first draft of whatever they're translating, that the translator can then adapt and correct.
So, maybe I'm not too professional. I haven't used AI for this book. It's a mistake, then, to not use it. Thank you!
