Have you ever tried Japanese noodles like soba, udon or ramen before? If so, have you seen shichime which is a common Japanese spice mixture containing seven ingredients at the Japanese noodle restaurants?

Since I'm not a fan of the flavor, I don't add it, while my husband is a big fan of it. It tastes spicy, so if you like spicy food, you definitely will enjoy it.

The last picture shows shichimi. It's considered as a type of herbal medicine and has several benefits, such as boost metabolism, improving blood circulation, digestive aid, antioxidant effect, and more. It has started using in 1625, so it has a long history. There are three major long-established brands: Yagenbori in Tokyo, Shichimiya in Kyoto, Yawataya Isogoro in Nagano. According to my husband, the Isogoro one is the best.

If you have a chance to visit these cities, try to get them!
