The film festival Scotland Loves Anime (also known as Scotland Loves Animation) is taking place next week. Every year I try to see at least one film. I don't really know why but Japan and Scotland's relationship seems to be good. It seems kimono and plays and music have been traded between us for a long time. Nearly every year there will be a worldwide premiere at this film festival. There's also interviews with the directors. But this year there are only UK premieres. I'm planning to see "All You Need is Kill" and "Angel's Egg". I'm looking forward to it! "All You Need is Kill" is a movie that came out this year, based on a book that was published in 2003, but it looks like a 90s anime. "Angel's Egg" is actually an older animated movie (from 1985). That style is instantly recognisable isn't it? Those thick black lines and huge eyes. My listening still isn't great so it's lucky there are subtitles. After I've seen the movies, I'll try to come here and write about them.

By the way, the word "after" in Japanese (後) has two possible pronunciations. There's ato, but I recently learned it can also be read as nochi. I guess ato is the default. I got sick this week. It was just a cold but I was totally wiped out. My motivation and determination to learn Japanese are fading. My motivation to do anything, too. But I thought this fact about 後 was interesting.

(If you're wondering about the bolded words, these are things I'm not sure how to say in Japanese. I don't like using a dictionary because it slows me down too much; I prefer to write fast. However, even after using a dictionary, I'm not sure how to say these.)
