My anger flares up. How dare anybody ask for my understanding in this situation? In addition, I have to be a person who has to swallow his shock and understand others. Sometimes, however, I sink into the familiar abyss of empathy and my old ways of seeking acceptance and avoiding rejection. I feel guilty.
