I think of life as a curve from birth to death. I don't see that we could influence the life cycle very much, but even more the meaning of life, also in the final stage of life. Life includes good and bad moments. Even if we allowed euthanasia, suffering wouldn't go away. Euthanasia doesn't even solve the suffering associated with the final stage of life, because even if such a thing happened to one person, it would cause another suffering to others.
