Something remarkable happened today. This morning, I was travelling on a very crowded train. The train was slightly delayed. At the station where I had to get off, many people had to leave the train with me. There were many people standing in the aisle and suitcases everywhere. I got off and watched the other passengers disembark on the platform. A large number of suitcases were unloaded one after the other and placed on the platform. When there were about 20 suitcases on the platform, about 15 more people got off. It was clear that there were more suitcases on the platform than there were people who had got off. It was not clear whether the suitcases belonged to the passengers on the platform. Out of nowhere, the conductor blew her whistle and the doors closed. It was clear that not everyone had got off yet. There was a slight panic on the platform. Someone tried to reach the conductor, but failed. The people still on the train were busy communicating with gestures to the people on the platform. Then the train drove away. The people on the platform were left distraught. I hope everything turned out alright. Because I had been watching the disembarking passengers for so long, my connecting train had already departed. I walked to the station hall, bought a cheese and ham sandwich and a bottle of fruit juice. I waited for the next train on the platform. Fortunately, I didn't have to wait long.
