Mutta Wiktor ei tahtonut tyytyä omaan kohtaloonsa. Miten hän pärjäisi maailmassa ilman toimivaa jalkaparia? Hän heräili keskellä yötäkin syvään murheeseen ja huoleen tulevaisuudesta. Päivät hän makasi apaattisena paikoillaan ja katseli kuinka ikkunasta paistava auringonvalo vaelsi pienen huoneen halki. But Wiktor didn't want to accept his own fate. How could he be fine in the world without a pair of functioning legs. He would wake up even in the middle of night to a deep sadness and worry about the future. For days, he stayed lying, apathetic, and looked at how the sunlight shining from the window was roaming across the small room. Soon, the unchanging days turned into weeks, and Wiktor hardly cared to keep count of them anymore.
