It's a Win!

Today was a beautiful sunny day that I unfortunately spent alone at home, but I managed to not let negativity ruin my day. Right after waking up, I exercised for 10 minutes. That is not so long, but I started getting into my exercise routine after having a break because of a cold. Even though I exercised just for 10 minutes, I nevertheless got a great amount of positive energy. It always feels so good after exercising, and it is one of the great benefits that you get from exercising regularly, along with a great benefit for your brain health. I understand it completely, and I want to exercise more, but anyway there are days and moments when I struggle to motivate myself. However, I managed to get motivation from my favourite neuroscientist, Wendy Suzuki, today. I listened to a podcast with her, and her motivated speech about how exercising can be one of the most transformative things that you can do for your brain motivated me to exercise one more time in the evening. I started slipping into depressive mood in the evening and just needed to power through this state, so I decided to exercise for 10 minutes. Even this short workout made me feel better. Besides two workouts, I encouraged myself through the day with motivating and positive inner monologue. I went to the mirror and smiled at me while saying a few encouraging words in my head. That seems too little and even childish, but it helped me to feel better. So, my day went quite well, and I managed to beat up negative thoughts today. It's a win!
