Shaved ice is one of the summer features in Japan, so before summer ended, my husband, my parents and I went to a shaved ice shop. We call it kakigōri in Japanese.
We all ordered green tea-flavored ice.
The small white balls on the bottom are called shiratama dango (sweet rice flour dumplings), which are commonly served with green tea flavored-shaved ice. My parents chose the version in the picture below with green tea syrup, sweet red beans, and the dumplings.
My husband and I ordered the version with green tea syrup, condense milk and the dumplings in the picture below, which looked like a Christmas tree.
That day was especially hot, so we definitely enjoyed it. Have you ever gotten brain freeze when you put too much ice cream or ice in your mouth at once? We often felt it while having, but that even made fun. Every time it happened, we laughed together.

Looks good! I'd like to try it one day!
I'd love to try it when I visit Japan :)
@Double-Zee Thank you as always for the comment! If you like matcha, you'll love it!
@KomodoDragon If you want to give it a try, it's better to come in the summer.
