An Afternoon to Think Forward

by

daily life

I spent one afternoon last week sitting alone in a quiet café, not working or reading — just thinking. I brought a notebook and let my thoughts wander.

Lately, I’ve been curious about the future: what kind of world are we moving into? History has moved through many phases — tribal life, kingdoms, capitalism. Now, with AI, decentralized finance, and new power structures, are we on the edge of something new?

I wondered whether these changes would truly help people live better lives, or just shift control from one group to another. Will AI free us from work, or will it deepen inequality? What will “success” mean in the future — owning data, attention, or something else entirely?

That day, I didn’t come to any big conclusions. But I enjoyed giving myself the time and space to reflect. Outside, the world was hot and busy, but inside, I was still. I drank a cup of coffee, then a tea latte. As evening came, I left the café feeling calmer — not because I had answers, but because I’d made space for the questions.
