Today I want to talk about a Japanese film called Perfect Days. There is a man named Hirayama. He is about 50 years old. He works as a toilet cleaner. Even though he was born into a rich family, he does not choose that life. He choose his simple life. He wakes up early every day, waters his flowers, buys a coffee. He always listens to old musics. The film was so engrossing. I mean, He is in Tokyo, Tokyo is very big city and Hirayama works as a toilet cleaner there. And he does his job very orderly and attentive. I mean, carefully. You can ask that why did he choose this life? Because happiness doesn't mean being rich. A simple life is the best way to being peaceful. Hirayama always rides a bike, reads a book. He loves book very much. He loves taking photos. He doesn't talk much. İn fact, almost not at all. His friend once said "I never heard his voice." He is that quiet. What I loved about this movie is the message it sends. Happiness is not possible through consumption, happiness is living simply. And the movie was so relaxing. Some people think that it is boring but I think İt isn't boring. I'm leaving a song from the movie here.
The Animals - House Of The Rising Sun
Sounds like an interesting movie. I'll have to watch it sometime. :)
