I've been so busy visiting places to see spring flowers lately! Today, I'd love to share some lovely photos of my favorite spring flower, wisteria, with you.
Last week, I visited Banpaku park to see the wisteria there. I spotted some dogwood flowers at the entrance. The pink ones are also my favorite.
When I got in the park, I saw a sign saying wisteria had just started blooming. I got excited!
On the way to the wisteria trellis, I came across some beautiful pink flowers called kiku-momo in Japanese. They're a variety of peach tree. Once again, I felt that pink was truly the color of spring.
I visit to see the wisteria trellis every year, and I'm glad I could see it this year again.
When you stand under the trellis, you'll notice that wisteria has an amazing fragrance. The wisteria trellis has several trees, and some were already in full bloom. The view was absolutely breathtaking and made everyone who saw it say, "Wow!".
It looked like a purple water fall.
The picture below shows the wisteria just starting to bloom.
This large wisteria trellis has several different varieties, and the picture shows hon-beni-fuji in Japanese. The flower color is soft pink.
Although both the purple and this soft pink varieties look very elegant, the pink wisteria looks more charming for me.
Unfortunately, the white one hasn't bloomed yet. When the purple, the pink and the white varieties start blooming at the same time, the view is just unbelievable. Since I came there a bit early, I missed it.
After enjoying the wisteria flowers, I spotted some Christmas roses too. They're simple flowers, but when they bloom in groups, they look quite lovely.
The wisteria in my garden had already finished blooming, but I truly hope it grows stronger and produces even more flowers next year.

It's interesting to think of pink being the color of spring. I think if you asked me, I would have said "green" because springtime is when the plants in the prairies around here are the most green and lush, before they start to dry out in the summertime.
Thank you for your opinion. To me, 'green' is the color of early summer. I guess looking around the green prairies must be very lovely!
