It's the second day since I started my posting… Oh no, I don't want to make this diary boring! My daily routine isn’t fun, and I’m tired of it. I’d like to add more fascinating things, more observations, and different notes because those details make the text more interesting.
So, about my day—everything felt slow since I barely slept last night. Usually, I can fight off exhaustion, but not today. My brain refuses to function, and I can’t come up with anything cool to write about. But at least I can share some thoughts on language learning.
Honestly, the only thing I really need right now is a good level of English. I think about it all the time, but I also want to sleep all day, every day, which makes studying effectively pretty hard. Still, I try. I listen to different content literally all the time. Of course, most of it is just background noise rather than deep listening, but I try to catch moments of full concentration too. I usually listen to things about US history, EuroNews, fairy tales, and random weird topics. But I think I need more informal content, like podcasts or live shows. I’ve tried watching SNL, but it’s too difficult for me. Sesame Street is more my level—lol. Actually, kids’ shows can be pretty hard to understand too. Oh, life is full of pain.
Your English is very good! How long have you been studying?
My active phase of studying has lasted about a year. I'm currently on probation, not in prison, but living in a rehab center for ex-convicts. I haven’t had the opportunity to improve my speaking. Also, it's tough to study using only a mobile phone. It's damn hard. I feel like my skills are not good, it takes me a long time to write a post here. Thank you, it cheers me up. Of course, I’ve been exposed to English all my life, but I didn’t pay much attention to it before.
Well I for one think your English is spectacular. You've really paid attention to the details that make English sound native, so now it's just a matter of polishing up your already brilliant proficiency. Don't worry about how long it takes you to write a post — that doesn't matter. Just keep writing!
