今週、私が育った、今も母が住んでいる街を訪れた。駅から彼女の家へ歩いて一時間くらいかかった。小さい頃の家も小学校を通り過ぎた。小学校を見るのは、とても懐かしかった。外から見たところでは、ほとんど変わっていないみたいだった。私たちは畑や川の近くに住んでいて、そこが遊び場だった。農家さんが麦を植えたらしい。麦が芽吹きかけていた。

道は川に沿って続いていた。道の中途でツメナガセキレイをみた！イギリスではすごく珍しいけど、私の顔に飛んできて大きな黄色の胸を見せた。当たり前かもね。私、鳥が好き。視るのが好きなの。いつでもいつでも「鳴き声を習ってしまおう！」とか「鳥を見分けることを習得してしまおう！」というけど、そうしない。また、おそらくÉowynのせいで倒された木があった。道を妨げていて落ちたブッシュもあった。正方形のてっぺんだから大きな盾みたいだと思った。

その後、川を歩き渡った。昔の木製の橋を歩いたときに揺れていたけど、数年前新しい橋が建設された。新しいのは金属製で緑色でも今、ペンキは剥げ落ちてきている。橋のフェンスに結びつかれた花束があった。私の他の日記が思い浮かべた。花が乾いて腐りかけてたが、小さい祈りをつぶやいた。

この日記はアニメのシーズンの終わりのような感じだね。話したことがまた姿を見せた。里帰りするとそうなるかもしれない。

This week I went to the town where my mum lives, and where I grew up. I walked from the train station to her house, which took about an hour. I walked past my old house and primary school. It was very nostalgic, seeing my old school. From the outside, it looks like it hasn't changed. We lived near some fields and a river, where we used to play. I think the farmers plant wheat in the fields. The wheat was starting to sprout.

The path ran along the river, and on the way, I saw a yellow wagtail! They're very rare in the UK, but it flew up to my face and showed off its big yellow chest. Maybe you can tell, I like birds. I like watching them. I always say 'I'm going to learn bird calls!' or 'I'm going to learn how to identify birds!' but I never do. There was also some fallen trees, probably caused by Éowyn, and a fallen bush that reminded me of a big shield, with its top square face.

Later, I crossed a bridge over the river. The old wooden bridge used to wobble, but they built a new one some time ago. The new one is made of metal, and green, but the paint is flaking off now. There was a bouquet of flowers tied to the fence of the bridge. I was reminded of my other post. The flowers were dry and rotting, but I still said a small prayer.

Writing this post, it feels like the end of the season of an anime. All the things I've talked about have come up again. Maybe that's always the way with going home.
