I've chosen the seventh episode from my recent posts. I find that words connected to emotions are easy to memorize, and I think this method of learning really suits me. I'm using the Repete Plus app on iOS to play Uly's model recordings. Thank you as always, Uly!

While practicing, I wondered why "the" is required for "in the late 2000s" but not for "in late 2009", so I asked AI, but its response was unclear to me. Should I just remember it that way? π€

You're always very welcome and you sound great! One thing I've noticed is that when you pronounce [r] and especially the ending -er, you teeter between actual [r] and [a]. You need to work on raising your tongue tip closer to the middle of the roof of your mouth and committing to a full [Κ]. I suggest you rewatch my video on this sound and then have a zoom with me to work on it one-on-one. Great work!
The reason for the definite article is clear if you remove the word late:
β in the 2000s
β in 2009
Thank you, Uly! I now understand when to use the definite article. Additionally, as you're aware, pronouncing the [r] sound is a challenge for us. Mastering it would be fantastic! I plan to practice by rewatching your video until next Tuesday. Could you please let me know your availability after that?
Good plan! My availability is like always β let me know the day before or the morning of, when you want to zoom. I'm usually available. And don't forget that you can also record words and phrases on telegram if you want me to check them or record them, etc. You don't have to wait till the zoom :)
So, I want to zoom on Thursday! I'll remind you on Wednesday night EST. Thank you in advance!
My pleasure!
