注釈・Notes:

1. In Japanese customs, a boy does this at the graduation ceremony and gives the button to his crush, because the second button (第二ボタン) from the top is the one closest to your heart. In one article I read it stated that the tradition started in WW2 and men who went to the battlefield would give his military uniform button as a keepsake to his love. Another source says that the tradition comes from a 1960 film. In the film, the main character gets enlisted in a kamikaze unit and, wishing to give the girl he likes a final present, he gives her the second button on his military uniform.
2. あげちゃおう is a difficult phrase to translate. Too many different meanings. I don't know how best to translate it.
3. This is a play on words and difficult to translate. You can read it in two ways. "Cherry blossoms, you, and I" or "You are handing me cherry blossoms."
4. 恋してしまった is conjugated in a way to show that the speaker regrets falling in love. I read that someone translated this line as "But even though I knew that, I still fell in love with you."
5. I haven't quite figured out how to translate 愛し. A bit too multi-layered for me to settle on one word. It's an adjective and can mean heartbreaking, lovely, or to describe something that "goes to one's heart" or "pierce one's heart."

この歌手を2023年から聞いていました。tuki.さんを初めて聞いた時にすごいと思いました。こんなに若いのにこんな綺麗な曲を書けるなんてすごいと思います。

詩的な曲だから訳するのはすごく難しかった。特に「愛し」はどうやって訳せばいいのかなとよく考えました。「あげちゃおう」も難しかった。
