Mieleni oli kirkas ja olin iloinen siitä että oli aurinkoinen sää. Nikon luona käydessä onkin valittava kaunis sää, ajattelin mielessäni. Niin kaikki näyttää paremmalta, Niko itsekin. Kävelimme pitkin valoisaa käytävää, seinillä oli kirkasvärisiä piirustuksia — jokin niistä saattoi olla Nikon. Värejä ja valoa, ja sitten Niko niiden keskellä, hiljaisena ja vierastaen koska ei ollut ennen nähnyt Ilkkaa.
