Practicing Brush Techniques

Since last year, I've been practicing unpitsu to improve my brush movements and create better brush strokes. I love practicing this because it makes me feel very calm, almost as if I'm meditating.

On the other hand, I have started practicing something more difficult. First, I drew an orchid from left side to right side. As a right-handed person, this isn't a problem at all. I can draw a pretty orchid, but when I try to draw it from right to left, it's extremely hard. I'm struggling because I can't see where my brush will land. I don't know which direction to move my brush to land it correctly on the paper. Usually, when we want to draw lovely strokes, we visualize where the brush should land before it touches the paper. We image an invisible guide line and follow it. Now, I understand why Japanese calligraphy is so difficult for left-handed people

I plan to demonstrate unpitsu to introduce Japanese art at my Italian teacher's art show in Italy. So, definitely I need to improve.
