Sue liked shopping online because of the good prices and its convenience. As usual, she brought three boxes of tissues online. Most of the time, the delivery men were friendly, but there was always an exception.
When arriving, the delivery man complained why she ordered three boxes of tissue but lived in the second floor without an elevator. As she remembered, the delivery areas on the shopping website did not exclude the places above the second floor without elevators.
While he was carrying the boxes, she signed for the goods and pressed the confirm button on a digital device. The man “reminded” that she should not have pressed the confirm button, which he had not told her not to initially. Although he did not sound very impolite, what he said made her wonder if that was all her fault.
Sue told her friend Jane about the unpleasant experience. Jane said if she were Sue, she would have replied to him, “Should I make an apology statement in the newspapers for living on the second floor without an elevator?” Sue laughed and decided not to let the thing ruin her day.
PS, were what the man said to Sue and what Jane might have replied to him passive aggressive?
The deliveryman was just aggressive and rude. There was nothing passive about him. Your friend was sarcastic, not passive-aggressive.
I appreciate your explanation. :)
