Task 2: Some people prefer to have temporary jobs, which means they only work a few months in a year and use the rest of the time to do. What is your opinion?

Answer

Some people prefer permanent job for their stable income and continuous career. Meanwhile, others want to be a short-term casual worker to get a higher rate of wage or have enough time for another. Having a permanant or temporary job depends on personal choice and there are advantages and disadvantages for employees when they choose a temporary job.

I prefer temporary job which is more flexible in terms of work place and free of colleagues. I am a one of people who move frequently due to my partner so it's hard to work for a certain area for a long time. Fortunately, my skill is related to education, which is easy sector to find a job everywhere. Moreover, I need time to take care of my children during vacation and most of assistance in schools are required for only school days, which helps me manage the balance between my work and home.

No promotion is, however, a disadvantage in working for short period, consistant level of work. It's not continuous process to develop my career as the position is just an assistance and a limited work task even though total working years is increasing. That means I always stay a certain position with fixed wage.

I guess the decision to the work type has relavance to the life style and effects on career and income. Temporary job is suitable for people who want time rather than career or money.
