My wife and I drove to a supermarket this morning. She had a meeting at 10 a.m. just two stops away from home, so we arrived at the store at 9 a.m., its opening time. However, there were long lines at the checkout, and it took me fifteen minutes for my turn to come. My wife had originally planned to return home and then go to the train station. However, she changed her plan because we were running late. On the way home, my wife asked me to drop her off at the station.
I parked my car at the roundabout in front of the station. Suddenly, an elderly man who was cleaning the roundabout approached us and warned us that our car would block the buses. He complained that most drivers don't pay attention to the signs that say "Don't park your car here." I apologized and told him that I would leave as soon as my wife got out of the car. But he continued to voice the same concern. It was quite annoying, and I felt like contradicting him, but I refrained from saying anything because it was indeed my fault.
I left the roundabout and noticed him crossing the street at a red light. I wanted to ask him if he didn't have to obey traffic rules. I couldn't understand why he was someone who couldn't overlook rule violations.

You have such a natural style in English. Do you or have you lived in an English-speaking country? Great job!
By the way, two bars is too low for your level of English. @JGcomm Would you agree?
No. I have lived only in Japan. It is hard for me to estimate my English level by myself.
