A Flaky Guy: Part 1

I help my grandfather rent his apartment, so I'm like a property manager. I look for the tenants, make sure they pay the rent on time, no drinking and partying, and make sure they keep the apartment in decent condition. My only condition is that only families or single women can rent the apartment, not bachelors or single men. I guess you know why. Because you always have problems with them and it's easier to deal with women than bachelors. I usually advertise the apartment on a special site that's dedicated to this kind of stuff. Once, an agent called me and said he had tenants for me. I told the agent my conditions carefully to not waste my time and to not have to meet with random people. We ended up meeting. They came to my place. The agent was a Russian guy, about 45 and the two guys were Muslims from a former Soviet republic. One of them was 38 and the other was about 21. So I explained my conditions to them carefully, showed them the apartment, filmed the apartment to have evidence in case they damaged the furniture, linoleum or the other stuff in the apartment. They agreed to my conditions. At the first sight, I didn't like the older Muslim because he was being too familiar, talking too much and he talked about money and how to get sales and make money. You know certain people have their history written on their face, and you can look at their face and know everything about them. I didn't like his face. He had a scar on his face from a knife wound. I should have told them I didn't want to deal with them because of my bad feelings about them, but I didn't! I don't know why I didn't do it. And I blame myself right now. It was a good lesson for me - not to rush into anything, think carefully and if you feel something is fishy, don't do it. And you’ll find out why soon.
