At the moment, I'm not spending a lot of time learning languages.
Okay, I still read English books and once a week; I have Italian and Japanese lessons.
But that's it.
For the rest of my free time, I have fallen in love with encaustic painting. Encaustic is painting with hot wax. You use a small iron to melt the wax and apply it to paper. You might think you can't do detail with an iron, but you can.
Even better, the iron can be used to create numerous effects. You can stroke it, shake it or wiggle it. You can use the flat side, the edge or the tip of the iron. And the hot wax can be very colourful and has a wonderful shine after polishing. At the moment, I'm totally gung-ho and only give homemade postcards as gifts.
It's not rare for me to totally fall in love with a hobby, but then again, it may very well pass after a year or two.
By the same token, it's quite possible that at some point, my love of learning languages will gain the upper hand again.
But for the moment, I'm busy painting.
I had never heard this term before. Thank you for sharing your current interest with us 😊
How fun!
