Hi guys!
Two days ago the Miami GP took, and I'k like to write my personal thoughts about te race.
I didn't write about the Azerbaijan GP because it was such a terrible race, that I didn't even bother to write about it. And when I say "terrible" I'm being very moderate - in my opnion it was the worst race of the year. Not only the race, but the whole weekend was a mayhem.
The Miami GP was better. Hamilton ended up staying out of the Q3. Which for me wasn't a surprise, since in the qualify of the Australian GP Russell also stayed out of the Q3. I think this is all related to the Mercedes' car being very inconsistent.
The Q3 was very interesing, Apart from Red Bull the cars were very close to another, if I'm remember correctly the gap was less than 1 second.
Leclerc wasn't lucky. In the Q3 he hit the car in the wall, and it wasn't possible to get back to the track, so as it was only less than a minute remaining to finish the qualify section the race management decided to end the qualify section.
Verstappen was the fastest pilot in the qualify, but he couldn't get a good time in the first attemp because he commited a error, and in the second attempt was when the qualify section was canceled, so he finished the qualify in 9th position.
This was very good fo the race, because if Verstappen was pole poisition the was race would be even more boring. Perez was the pole position, so if Verstappen wanted to win the race he would have to be very fast to get to Perez.
At the start of the race I knew Verstappen would get to Perez, my only doubt was how long it would take for him. And much to my surprise before the 13 lap he already had overtsken Perez. It was very hard to wrap my head around, Verstappen was very very very fast, it was like he was on another league.
He started the race with hard tyres and kept them until the 42 lap, and even after that amount of laps he was still doing fastest laps after fastest laps. It was incredible, he's such a great driver.
Hamilton also made a great race, he started in the 13th position, his first stint wasn't good, he got stuck behind Albon for a long time, but as soon as he changed his tyres he made a great race, and finished in 6th posiion.
Alonso and Russell also did a good job.
A lot of people were thinking Perez could win the championship, but the truth is Perez is nowhere near verstappen's talent.
I agree! The past couple of races have been pretty awful, especially for the Ferrari fans. Who's your favorite team?
@Samp_Papp As long as the Elkann-Agnelli family are in charge, Ferrari isn't going to achieve anything. They are the same people responsible for the downfall of two world giants: Alfa Romeo and Lancia. That alone speaks volume. These two companies deverve respect and should be brought back to their former glory. Alfa was the first car ever to win in f1 and dominated in the first few decades. Lancia still remains the most winning car in the history of rally. To say the least, we Italians do not like the Elkanns and the Agnellis.
