It's another Sunday evening, and I'm cooking some simple dishes for dinner.
Probably, it's because I walked quite a bit yesterday, I feel much better now. I just checked how many steps I walked on my phone, and it showed me 17,000 steps a day. Normally, I just walk around 6,000 steps a day. It is a great achievement that I'm proud of.
Speaking of how many steps, that reminds me of an episode of my favorite podcast, that talked about an American writer, David Sedaris, who has started to pick up rubbish or trash while he is walking.
There is a new word, "plogging", which is a loan word from Swedish. When he was living in West Sussex, he used to walk 60,000 steps a day. Can you believe that?
His action inspired the local community. They eventually bought a new truck that collected the trash. The truck was named after him.
This story is really inspiring. I don't think I'm going to do plogging, though. I learned a great lesson about even if such a tiny activity I took, I would be able to change the entire situation where everyone thought it'd be impossible. I am going to check out his books later.
Have a nice week ahead.
good job! I had never heard of "plogging" before reading your post.
@a_c Hi! Thank you so much for your corrections on my journal. According to the podcast that mentioned "plogging" is you can break it down into 2 verbs, one is pick up and the other one is jogging. I really like the idea.
