I've recently developed an interest in yoga and meditation. I found, a month ago, a very interesting Youtube channel from a Greek self-coach and yoga teacher.
I started watching his videos one after another. He has videos about philosophy, which I have always been interested in and I've also read a few books about it, tips and suggestions about how to live a better life and work better toward your goals, and last but not least, yoga and meditation instruction.
His videos, especially those about meditation, inspired me to start researching this subject online and try to practice every day with the help of online yoga and meditation videos. My goal here is to try to strengthen my focus and calm my mind and also work with my body in a different way than I usually do, like running and weightlifting.
According to the book Deep Work, there is a significant difference in the results of your work depending on the type of work you do - deep work versus shallow work. According to Cal Newport, the writer of the book, when you create the right environment and the conditions to work deeply without distractions on any subject you are interested in and you can stay focused, the results of your work or your study are exponentially better.
However, this cannot be done overnight. We need to practice every day. We live in a world full of distractions and have a lot of tasks to do every day, so it takes time to create the conditions that will help us achieve this profundity. I hope meditation will help me with that.
So I'll do my best and see what the results will be.
Thanks for reading :)
That was actually very well written with only a few mistakes. Great job!
Thanks! I try to do my best and I gradually improve I think! And using the new word I learned, I believe my English will be exponentially better in a year! :)
Very good!! You learned a great word today 👍🏻😉
