How do you think technology, such as smartphones and social media, has changed the way we interact with people?

Nowadays everyone has a smartphone and everyone uses social media. It's become part of our life. Of course, this development has changes the way we interact with other people, such as our friends or our family.

In my opinion, today bonds are more superficial because we tend to "live" our lives through our devices rather than through our real life (with all its embarassing or moments, laughter, joy, etc).

When we go out, we prefer to use our smartphones to show on the Internet that we are out with people, that we are having dinner in a nice restaurant, or that we are enjoying a holiday. We prefer to use our smartphones even if we are in the presence of other people. Maybe those people are talking to us and we are not listening to them because we are too focused on "how to appear" rather than "how to be".

In addition, due to social networks like Instagram (where appearance is extremely important), we tend to compare ourselves with others. We believe others' lives are perfect, always interesting and always full of positive moments. But it's important to realise that not everything we see is real.
