I don’t want my writing to feel boring—even to myself. So, what should I do?

I’m currently in the second year of my PhD program at a Japanese university, specializing in Modern Japanese Literature. Lately, I often find myself wondering about the kind of work I might do here after graduation. To be honest, I hope to find a place where I feel useful and valued—where I can apply my strengths and skills to contribute to society without sacrificing my own rhythm of life, and of course, continue living in the place I have chosen.

So, here I am—trying to bring my English self back to life.

I haven’t quite decided how I’ll keep this journal going, but I’d like to give a touch of journalism a try. Hopefully, my English will slowly start recovering after having spent so long waiting patiently on a dusty shelf.
