This is cannot be real ! The intermediate plateau is all in your mind, so,... if you want you can just disbelieve it exists .
It can be a figment of your imagination, but only if you allow it to be . So many language learners get hung up about it, there really is no need !
IF you take it slower you can tunnel underneath it !! The honeymoon period of learning a new language
is great but if you take it too fast, and lots of people do , you may get burn out , or worse still put yourself off learning altogether !
I was given a book by my wife years ago entitled " Meditations for men who do too much "
One quote that I recall is " God gets pissed off when people pass through the countryside and don't notice the colour purple " Take it slower, it's a marathon, not a sprint. Enjoy the flowers as you pass along that long road. Take your time, enjoy the process of learning . Remember the fable of the Hare and the Tortoise !
