Today I will try to make some examples with verbs followed by a gerund or "to + infinitive" in order to try to memorize their meanings.

Stop:

stop interrupting me while I am talking.

Stop eating so fast!

I will stop to buy some flowers to my mom.

Start

I will start doing my homework as soon as possible.

I will start to do my homework as soon as possible.

Forget

I'll never forget making my first public presentation. I was so nervous.

Don't forget to sign the list to document your presence in the congress.

Remember

I always remember being nervous during the tests week.

Remember to visit your grandma after school.

Regret

I regret spending so much time on the internet.

I regret to warn you that your contract is expired

Mean

I walked in the rain all the way, this will mean having to change clothes as soon as I get home

Leaving things for the last hour means getting stressed all day long

I meant to plan my visit, but I didn't have time

I mean to visit my parents this weekend.
