Russian
Having traveled to Russia, I am conversant in Russian. I have studied Russian, ancient Greek, German, and majored in English Literature. Currently I am self-teaching French, German, Spanish, and other languages. I do this because I enjoy learning languages. I also like to meet people who speak a foreign language.

Hi Irene! I also like meeting people who speak foreign languages and exchange stories about why we chose to learn the languages that we do. I look forward to reading more of your posts! However, I only speak French, German and Spanish out of the languages you listed here.
Bonjour Emily! Comment allez-vous? Tres bien. Yes I made several typos in my first entry. It should be Russia. "Conversant" is the correct word. I also am a native speaker of English. I learned Russian in college. I am only learning French Spanish, and German. Robin has helped me recently by encouraging me to track my language studies. That helps me be more productive. And what about you? Is there any one language you are more fond of than the other? I do enjoy Russian very much!
Hi Irene, I hope one day to learn Russian. However, I’m of the mind that when I learn Russian it should be the only language that I’m working on. Of the languages that you’re currently learning we have French in common :).
Bonjour James! Learning Russian for me was difficult at first.I had to learn the alphabet first. I felt the same way way that you do about learning one language. But it's not very economical in terms of time. So I learned ancient Greek, when I learned Russian. But I only have 2 years of ancient Greek. You know that the Russian alphabet is derived from the Greek alphabet. So when you learn Russian, you are learning some Greek. I encourage you to learn the Russian alphabet!
