Hello everyone, my name is Matias and today, I want to talk about the importance and the impact that habits can have in a person's life.
First of all, I want you to know that I recently read a book called Atomic Habits by James Clear, it's an awesome book. In case you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend it.
The idea behind this post, is to briefly talk about habits that I made for myself that really helped me in many ways. If you have good habits in your life, with some time, you are going to see a lot of improvements. I'm not just talking about things regarding studying, working, eating healthier, etc, but actually notice improvements in yourself as a person.
One quick example of a good habit from my experience would be, drink a glass of water every day when I get up from bed. For several months I felt like I wasn't being as productive as I really wanted, one of my issues was my really bad diet... you know, eating lots of fats, unhealthy food in general. They say "learn to walk before you run" for a reason.
In just a week, from doing this every morning, my body just started to feel better in general. Making that little habit of just one glass of water every day in the morning, it makes all the difference for me because that really motivates me to start doing other healthy things, like eating better, doing exercise, setting a time of the day for myself, for reading things that I really enjoy.
If you have read this far, it'd be great if you remember this: Making one good little habit may seem meaningless in the short term, but it may actually start a snowball of good habits in the future and change your life for the better over time.
Thank you for reading.
Nice advice. I've read that book too and it is such a great book. I would recommend it to everyone.
reading is magical, isn't it?
@nori Indeed. I started reading books of my interest in my native language when I was like 15 years old, one of the best decisions that I made. Now I'm trying to expand my reading to other languages like English and Korean. Thanks for your comment!
@Fronk Yeah, it's a great book. After I finished reading it, I realized a lot of things that had never crossed my mind before, little details that make such a huge difference!
Thanks to all the people that have commented, I really appreciate your help!
