INTERNET : IT REPELS OR IT GLUES PEOPLE?

The Internet has opened a huge world which some years ago was just seen in sci-fi films. Many people think this new tool has been a great invention to maintain people together despite the distance; others, but, don’t opine the same way.

First of all, online communication has given us what old paper letters could’t: speed. While a postal card can arribe two months after arriving to the person you have sent it to, an email just lasts two seconds. Not only written words, but we can actually see each other behind the screen. Furthermore, we can arrive and know about people who are really far from us, because of news.

Yet, not always this communication is believed to approach one another. In moments of covid it has tested the capability of technologies in all their potential. Some psychologists and specialists have agreed that even having daily communication with our friends and family hasn't supplied the emotional need of company. In fact, it has caused a huge fear in some people to return to talk face to face. But, we can’t ignore the fact that without the internet the lockdown would have been more tragic.

In conclusion, we can say that technology has made a great advantage in communication, but this artificial connection is not always enough for us, social creatures.
