My Handpainted Plates

I've been practicing my weakness for a while. I'm not good at drawing fine lines with a thin, round brush, so I decided to create three plates with fine lines. I finished my first plate, so I'd like to share it with you here.

As always, I took some step-by-step photos, so I'd like to show how I painted it. Each plate has four circles with a different bird in the center.

After finishing drawing all lines, I added some traditional Japanese patterns.

Then, I added colors.

I like painting both sides of plates, so I painted the back side as well.

This is my second plate. The bird in the center is different from the first plate.

I finished painting all the colors, and the only thing left to do was to add the gold details.

I realized that the bird part had too much empty space, so I added lots of gold dots. I also added more flowers in my second plate's bird part. My first plate isn't bad, but I still think I need more practice. Now, I'm working on my second plate. Once I finish it, I'll show it to you here.

I hope my second plate will turn out a little bit prettier than my first one.
