I’m into Black Lagoon again because the newest volume has been issued and the animation is airing on YouTube.

It’s Japanese comic, and a gun action story at Roanapur-a fictional town in Thailand.

The fans, including me, love the lines.

They sound like direct translations from English, as if they were from an American movie.

I tried translating, but if you’re Christian, you should be careful to read the following because you might feel uncomfortable.

Honestly, the characters don’t respect God so much.

「俺はね、もう死んでるんですよ。あんたがそう言った」

Mine: I already died. You said so.

Official: "I'm already dead. You said it, remember?"

「…金は、神か?」

「力、さ。神よりゃよほど役に立つ」

Mine:

Rock: Money is God?

Revy: Power. It’s much more helpful than God.

Official:

Rock: "So money is... God?"

Revy: "No, it's power. And it's way the fuck more useful."

「神は留守だよ、休暇取ってベガスに行ってる」

Mine: God isn’t here. He takes leave and go to Las Vegas.

Official: "God's not in today. He's on vacation in Vegas, all right?"

「祈れ。生きてる間にお前ができるのはそれだけだ」

Mine: Pray. What you can do while you’re alive is only that.

Official: "Pray. That's about the only thing you can still do while you're alive."

All of the official translations are dirty, but they’re also cool.

The comic seems to be sold overseas, so I want to get the English version and see how the lines are stylishly translated.
