Recently, my son has wanted to separate areas at home using a chain or a rope.
Yesterday morning, I told him to eat breakfast, but he was concentrating on his “job” and said “I’ll do it when I’m done!” However, he wasn’t able to do well and got frustrated, and then I got frustrated too. I finally got mad at my son.
Also, he gets often angry at villains in animated shows. When he watches Anpanman, he says “You have to go to the baby class!” to Baikinman. It may be something his nursery school teacher says to him.
The situation itself is funny, but he sometimes throws toys at TV. Of course, I get angry with him as usual.
In Japan, we call small children「魔の2歳、悪魔の3歳、天使の4歳」
According to my research, there are similar expressions in English: “the terrible twos, the horrible threes, the wonderful fours.”
Although I’m not sure which expression came first, I’m wondering if things will get better after my son’s fourth birthday.
New words and expressions for me

-get mad at
-animated shows
-throw A at B
-the situation itself
