Yesterday I watched the movie The History of Sound by Oliver Hermanus and in the same week I finished the book Silk by Alessandro Baricco. Both are not direct connected, nonetheless I cannot denie that both have made my mind wonder. The History of the Sound is about two men; Lionel Worthing and David White, they met each other at the Music College and they grew a relationship that for different reasons was truncated, interrupted and blocked by forces that they could not control. Regarding Silk by Alessandro Baricco, although it is a different story about a man who ought to save his village by going to Japan to obtain no contaminated silk's eggs in a time where Japan was the only country that had them in such condition, all the five main characters had their possibilities truncated equally, and as well as Oliver Hermanus' film all they wanted was happiness. It seems to me a symptom of out time.
