I have a turning point in my English. 2 years ago, I wanted to level up my English speaking. Before the decision, I only studied listening and reading for school exams and TOEIC. So, I could listen English some sentences but not say anything except basic expressions like I'm fine and you?. To improve my English, I had to find a solution, something to help me. After searching hard, I finally found an app to help with language exchange.  

As soon as I found that, I was addicted to the app. I met an Indian who was learning English. She was more fluent than I was, even though we were the same level, B1. By the way, She had a little different accent compared to me. She spoke in mixed accents. It was cool. In contrast I had a distinct Korean accent. When I said something, people told me I have the accent in Korean movies they saw. It was interesting that people recognized me right away from my accent.  

Back to the point, at first meeting, we chatted in English and we discussed some topics. I liked she had passionate attitude about English. She told me that she wanted competitive English for her career. So, after the first meeting, I asked her, "how about studying together?" and thankfully, she accepted my suggest. And, for months, we practiced English real hard. For example what is your favorite color?, how to treat rude person?, when is your the hardest moment? and things like that. While we shared those, my English developed surprisingly. What I especially thanks to her, she didn't hesitate to give tips for me. When I have individual concerns, she listened and helped me how to handle it. As I think it again, we were good English partners. Every time there were introducing time, I would introduce her as my English teacher, and then interestingly she was always like "I am a English partner." Since her English is much finer than mine, I learnt countless things from her. As a result, I've been having confidence and I realized English is fun. Meeting the friend was my turning point.
