Does the title was spicy? I want to describe modern society problems. We are living in dopamine addiction society. Dopamine is hormone, which has big power that force you to do continuously. If it release too much, you can't control your behavior. For example, smartphone, Youtube, computer games can be included.
Back to the my daily life, I've been also addicted to games, Youtube, workout. During in this addiction times, my body and mind were broken and hurt. I watched Youtube, Netflix at least for 2~3 hours unstoppably when I sit on a chair. It's really big problem for me. Due to this, I have sleeping disorder. Despite I wanted to sleep, when I went to bed, my eyes was shining. I think the reason is my brain was not ready for sleep. I strongly believe I need some variations at least a little bit. For instance, watching video needs to be reduced less than an hour. I will cut it down, I am not sure if I have very confident of that. But, It's my hoping. Wish me luck.
Here are some my plan for recovering dopamine system.
1. When I am watching fascinating programs, ask to myself that "Is it too much watching?" as self monitoring.
2. One program is permitted for one hour. After the program finished, write feelings, thinking and anything on my blog. I inferred that writing can be game-changer as taking medicine for dopamine addiction.
I tried to write something after watching, but it was too hard to maintain. My solution is to delete TikTok and put my phone far away from me. I can allow myself to play great games and watch great films in my leisure time instead of scrolling short videos.
I agree this is very much a problem with modern society and something I am very conscious of in my own life. I particularly worry for the generation that is growing up having had iPads shoved in their face since they were toddlers...
I also have dealt with a phone addiction too. When I was in middle school, I would pull all nighters on my phone almost every day. I think cutting your screen time is a great idea : ) Writing can be good as well since you will actually think about what you are watching. However, I also think it's important to give yourself some grace/be nice to yourself. Sometimes addiction can come from other stressors in life. So, it's good to be understanding towards yourself too.
thank u guys. I appreciate your advice.
