My Homegrown Peaches

I have a peach tree in my garden, but I don't know how old it is. When we moved into this house it was already there. I'd never taken care of a peach tree before, so at first, it annoyed me. I admired its flowers, but I wasn't interested in its fruit at all.

However, during the pandemic, I had to stay at home and started gardening. Before then, I had barely paid any attention to the tree, but all of a sudden, I started taking care of it. Since then, I have enjoyed growing its fruit.

The tree grows fruit every year, but it never produces the same peaches. Their size and flavor are always different. It's also hard to protect them from insects. Growing perfect peaches is never easy, and ever since I started gardening, it has become one of my biggest challenges and motivations.

This year, my peach tree grew fruit as usual, and I was already excited from the beginning.

Day by day, the peaches grew larger, and they gradually turned slightly red on some spots. They also looked bigger than they had in previous years.

One day, I harvested some and ate one. I was amazed by the taste because it was the best in years. Of course, we can get very sweet peaches at the store, but I'm happy my peach tree finally produced such delirious and juicy peaches!

I think we had more rain during the rainy season than last couple years, and I believe that helped all my fruit trees or bushes, including my blackberries and blueberries, produce better fruit. I can't control the weather, so I absolutely appreciate it.
