A couple of weeks ago, I attended an art exhibit featuring Japanese art with water-themed scenes. That day was extremely hot, so I was happy to escape from the heat for a while. Visiting museums in the summer is one of my favorite ways to spend my time. I can stay cool and enjoy art at the same time. Unfortunately, many museums don't hold many art exhibits that I'm interested in during the summer.

The exhibit featured works from the Edo period (1600 to 1867), and I enjoyed looking around some sumi-ink paintings, holding screens, embroidered kimonos, maki-e (a Japanese lacquer decoration technique) and more. Every piece was related to water, which gave the exhibition a refreshing atmosphere and made me feel a little cooler. I was especially impressed by some sumi-ink paintings. I thought I wish I could paint like them.

I'm always amazed by the work of these craftsmen and artists. Their creations are breathtakingly delicate, precise, and beautiful.
