A Peaceful Time with My Family

Japanese irises bloom in early June before lotus flowers bloom. Last year, I missed the chance to see them, so I visited the park with my husband, our daughter, and her family this year. When we arrived at there, we thought they had passed their peak. Even so, they still looked lovely.

There were about 140 different varieties, over 10,000 plants in the park. So when they were in full bloom, the scene must have been breathtaking. When I admired the flowers, I immediately thought I should take my parents there. My dad definitely enjoys taking pictures. Next year, I'd love to take them there.

My daughter and I talked about which Japanese iris was our favorite while walking together. She told me that she really loved their names. Each variety has it own elegant name that reminds us of the Heian period (794 to 1185).

I liked the violet-colored one the most in the picture below.

Before we left, we saw a lotus flower in a pod was blooming.

The park was peaceful and quiet, and we all enjoyed a graceful, relaxing time together.
