A couple of days ago, I cooked a Korean dish called bibimbap for the first time. I followed a recipe from a steaming cookbook I recently bought. I also used my brand-new bamboo steamer for the first time as well.
I took some step-by-step photos, so I'd like to share them with you here. Making bibimbap is quite easy. You simply cut your favorite vegetables and place them on top of the rice with meat. Then, you add some Korean seasonings and steam it. That's it.
One of the ingredients kimchi is a fermented food, which contains lots of lactic acid bacteria and fiber. It's one of the healthy foods we should include in our daily diet. Although I used one that I bought at a supermarket, I really want to make a homemade one.
Gochujang is also a fermented seasoning that helps boost metabolism and support gut health.
I mixed my homemade fermented ginger with sesame oil and say sauce, then combined it with gochujang. I put the mixture on top and steamed everything together.
It's not a traditional bibimbap, but it tasted delicious! Steaming is very simple, but it retains minerals and vitamins, so it's definitely a very healthy way to cook. (5096)
That looks delicious! What vegetables did you use?
Nice to meet you! Thank you for reading, correcting, and commenting. I used mushrooms, chives, bean sprouts, carrots, Japanese radish, and so on.
